- In recent years, internet file sharing has boomed. People ccopy and paste whole articles and files e.g. songs videos etc, and post them on the web, gving others, usually people they have never met, the oppertunity to use or download the file/article for free.
- This has meant, that in the last ten years, hundreds, probably thousands, of journalists have lost their jobs due to their magazine or newspaper has had to downsize. This being primarily the fault of these internet pirates.
- The Printed Newspaper Industry has now demanded that the ISPs stop people sharing their content over the internet.
- Another print media that has been affected is pornography. There used to be lots of top-shelf magazines, all earning a comfortable living. Then, the internet came along and at a stroke destroyed their business model.
- Their are loads of internet sites that users can get the same stuff that used to be sold off the top shelf. 75% of all porn mags are filled with adverts for internet sites showing exactly what is on the pages of their magazines.
